Wakefield Park is a Wellington City Council sports ground on Adelaide Road in Island Bay, home ground for Wellington Olympic, Wellington United Diamonds and Island Bay United football clubs and used for cricket in summer. A new $500,000 community playground opened across Adelaide Road from the park in 2019 (with a new pedestrian crossing linking the two), offering accessible play equipment including a basket swing and carousel.
