The Mangawhai Activity Zone (MAZ) is a 2.5-hectare community-run recreational facility on Kaipara District Council land at 191 Molesworth Drive, Mangawhai Heads. It packs together an extensive skate park, family-friendly mountain bike and walking tracks, an all-weather multi-sports court, an outdoor adult fitness area, and a $143,000 community-funded adventure playground for 12-month to 10-year-olds opened in 2024. The playground features a long flying fox, pirate ship, climbing frames, multiple slides and swings, a play kitchen, plus drinking water, toilets and ample parking on-site.

NOT dog friendly anymore. Everyone having a good time and then council turns up telling people off while even admitting there are no signs 5 stars anyway because the park is amazing.
