Waihoihoi River Park is the central Waipū community reserve on The Centre, with grassed slopes running down to the Waihoihoi River and a wharf at the water's edge. The recently renewed playground combines swings including an accessible wheelchair swing, slides and climbable stone sculptures, alongside the Waipū Skatepark and a basketball half court. Mature trees, public toilets nearby and on-site parking make it a comfortable family stop within walking distance of the Waipū village shops. Best treated as a half-day local destination on the Bream Bay coast.
