Warkworth Lions Club Project Childrens Playground is a Lions Club of Warkworth-driven play project on the Mahurangi River waterfront in central Warkworth, near the service centre library. The community-led design (developed with Rodney Local Board input and a $100,000 grant) added climbing platforms, in-ground trampolines, a flying fox, and a four-metre high swing geared at older kids alongside the existing toddler play at Shoesmith Reserve nearby. The nearby Warkworth School and Ngati Manuhiri helped shape the wider design. A community waterfront stop pairing well with a Mahurangi River walk.
