Loved this park! It was so peaceful and calm, and the perfect spot to enjoy some birdwatching and time in nature. There’s a great path going around the lake, and lots of people were walking around, biking, or relaxing on the ground. There are lots of great signs with helpful and informative info. I’m really glad I went here, I definitely recommend checking it out.

Western Springs Lakeside Park sits around a spring-fed lake between Auckland Zoo and MOTAT, with the Motions Road entrance giving direct access to the destination playground rebuilt in March 2021. The ecological-escape theme weaves acorns and vines into the equipment: an acorn climbing tower, hexagonal swing cluster, giant basket swing, climbing mounds and nets, multiple high slides, a hill-with-slide, low tunnels, a carousel, percussion play and a sail-shaded under-fives area. Pathways double as a learn-to-ride track, with BBQs, picnic tables, shade sails and drinking fountains throughout.

Absolutely gorgeous and well-maintained park with a wide variety of wildlife living there. Watch the eels is probably one of my favorite things to do. Not a big fan of the swans who think they run the park
