Western Springs Lakeside is a large Auckland Council park around a spring-fed lake, next to Auckland Zoo and MOTAT. The destination playground reopened in March 2021 with an ecological-escape theme: an acorn climbing tower, hexagonal swing cluster, giant basket swing, climbing mounds and nets, multiple high slides, low tunnels, a carousel and percussion play, with playhouses and a sail-shaded area for younger children. Pathways double as an informal learn-to-ride track, and there are BBQs, picnic tables, shade sails and drinking fountains throughout.

A visit to Western Springs Park is an absolute delight. It's a beautiful and massive park, the perfect place to get some fresh air and escape the hustle of the city. The grounds are well cared for making it ideal for long leisurely walks, or simply relaxing in nature. There's a large lake with ducks and swans and the most beautiful scenery surrounding it which adds to the charm. Great picnic spots and a large children's park. There's also a tram ride around the park. Photos captured are from different segments of the park and are in no particular order. Awesome place to spend the day.
