The Wānaka Dinosaur Playground (officially Roys Bay Recreation Reserve) sits on the lakefront in central Wānaka, accessed off Ardmore Street or Lakeside Road. The space is anchored by a large dinosaur slide alongside a mini space net, toddler swings, seesaw and small slide for younger kids, and climbing structures, swing bars and a wide group swing for older children, with picnic tables, a free BBQ, toilets and views over Lake Wānaka.

A great stop for families. We played with a 4, 6 and 8 year old and each of them found something they loved. The proximity to toilets, lakeside, a small swimming stream and the Lee Summers sculpture is also a bonus. We loved the raised platforms with shade as it was a great place to refresh after being in the sun! Definitely worth visit if you visit Wānaka with children.

A cute and lovely playgrounds. The dino slide is a big hit for younger kids. My older ones love climbing in the rope tower, or whatever that is called.
