Allenby Park is a Wānaka community reserve off Allenby Place, sitting at the foot of Mt Iron and managed by Queenstown Lakes District Council with input from the Friends of Allenby Park. The playground pairs a slide, swings and climbing equipment with a picnic shelter, seating and shade, alongside a fitness circuit and walking and biking paths through the wider reserve. It suits a stop-off after the Mt Iron loop or a relaxed afternoon for families with mixed-age kids.

Seems like a new playground. Turf/fake grass underneath but quite soft to sit on. No swings but lots to climb on. Daughter almost 3 - wasn’t able to use climbing wall area but could climb to slide and enjoyed the area with balancing log and stumps to step along. BBQ with picnic table and water fountain. No rubbish bins. Minimal shade though did manage to set baby up in shade from structure itself.

This is a good, small playground with a nice and forgiving surface. Use is a bit limited for younger players. Best suited to 2y+
