Waikirikiri Park Playground

Waikirikiri Park is a Gisborne District Council park in Kaiti, with playgrounds and sports fields tied closely to the Waikirikiri School community. After a six-month community consultation a new dream playground was chosen and is being built to replace the older equipment dismantled on health and safety grounds, with the design referencing the history of the parks founders and local iwi. The park hosts community events like the Whanau in The Park day with Ka Pai Kaiti. A community-anchored neighbourhood park rather than a destination playground.
