Heath Johnston Park is a 12.7-acre Gisborne District Council reserve in the Tamarau suburb south-east of central Gisborne. The site combines sports fields, walking and running trails, picnic seating and a recently installed children's playground with the council's Tamarau Wetland project - earthworks creating a wetland with riparian planting to lift water quality and fish habitat in the Wainui Stream. A relaxed local park-and-walk stop with strong ecological restoration emphasis rather than a destination playground.
