Anzac Park is a Gisborne District Council waterfront park on the Waimata River in Inner Kaiti, just across from the central city. The flat open lawn is fringed by mature trees and two native bush areas, with a childrens playground, BBQs, picnic tables, football fields, and toilets. The Mareikura Waka Ama Club trains here and you can often watch outrigger canoes on the river, and the park doubles as a Gisborne war memorial with annual Anzac Day services. A relaxed family park rather than a destination playground.

One of our favorite family spots. Under the big trees on a hot day watching the wakas and everything else that might be going on. Today we took Nan and we played cards😜🙂 …

Lovely groomed field Big shady oak trees. Good play areas for kids. Fantastic to see the Waka ama along the banks.
