Trentham Memorial Park is a 48-hectare Upper Hutt City Council sports and memorial park bought from the Barton family in the 1950s as the city’s WWII memorial. The destination playground features two large forts, a 4.5m mega swing and a double-basket swing, slides for all ages, plenty of climbing structures and a water-play area with sparkling troughs over a stone bed. Sports fields, walking and cycling loops (including the Trentham parkrun), fencing, picnic tables, toilets and parking round out the park.

Great kids’ playground set within a large, open park. A good mix of play equipment to suit different ages, with plenty of space for kids to run around safely. Well maintained, clean, and easy to keep an eye on children thanks to the open layout. Plenty of nearby grassed areas for picnics or kicking a ball, and toilets are close by, which is always a win with younger kids. A solid spot for families, birthday meet-ups, or a relaxed stop while the kids burn off some energy.

Good playground. Loses the sun early in winter so can be a bit cool. Good range of play equipment. Large park area to kick a ball too which is useful for variety. Parking adjacent to playground. Toilet facilities.
