Trentham Memorial Park is Upper Hutt City Council's 48 hectare memorial park between Fergusson Drive and the Hutt River, purchased from the Barton family in the 1950s as the city's Second World War memorial. The destination playground (upgraded at the end of 2016) features twin large forts, a 4.5 metre mega swing and double-basket swing, slides for all ages, a junior zone with small slide under a shade sail, a water play area with sloping troughs and plenty of climbing structures. The wider park hosts sports fields, carnivals, picnic areas, the Hutt River trail, Burton's Bush walks and a shared cycle route. Best treated as a destination Upper Hutt family day stop.
