Trentham Memorial Park is a 48-hectare Upper Hutt City Council park, gifted to the city by the Barton family in the 1950s as Upper Hutt's Second World War memorial. The destination playground (upgraded in 2016) features two large forts, a 4.5-metre mega swing, double basket swings, slides for all ages and a huge adventure course of bridges, tunnels, rope ladders, rock climbing walls, balancing buttons and tunnel slides. A separate preschool area sits under shade sails with a miniature slide, tunnel and rocker, and a water-play feature runs water down sloping troughs. The park also has sports fields and the Trentham Sports Centre.

woof! Hands-down my favourite hangout! I drag my humans here for ‘exercise’ (mostly for them, let’s be honest), make new friends, and indulge in a smorgasbord of sniffing delights. Maximum tail-wagging drama guaranteed. Five paws up… six if treats appear

Beautiful park with a huge neatly-cut grass surface, bush trails, kids’ playground and a plethora of colourful birds. Also, a stunning view of the surrounding hills and a nearby river.
