Roy Turner Memorial Playground is a small Ruapehu District Council reserve in National Park Village, with the play space looking across to the Tongariro volcanic landscape. The playground combines climbing frames, swings and other play equipment to suit under-fives through to teenagers, alongside picnic benches and a shelter for changeable weather. Supported by the Ruapehu Lions Club and the council, it serves both the small village's local kids and tourist families passing through. Best treated as a road-trip pit-stop in the Central Plateau.
