Papakowhai Reserve is a Porirua City Council coastal escarpment reserve on Cassley Crescent in Papakowhai, with a kowhai- and kanuka-dominated forest, freshwater wetland, and coastal saltmarsh that support diverse native bird and plant life. The reserve offers informal recreation and natural play with kickabout lawn areas and an off-leash dog exercise area rather than a manufactured playground. Pair with Aotea Lagoons big destination playground a short drive away. A nature reserve and walking stop rather than a play space.

Nice peaceful walk. Short walk for large dogs maybe longer walk for small dogs. Large green space to throw a ball. Wooded walk in parts.

A tranquil place to go for a walk with ducks and birds in the area. There is an ecosystem here that is pleasant and calming. Dogs go for walks here. Highly recommended for a walk or a run through. Very spacious area to move around in.
