Laurie Hall Park sits in the centre of Whangārei and is best known for its hillside floral gardens, war memorial cenotaph and a man-made waterfall. The shaded children's playground in the southwest corner is a medium modular unit with a double swing, slide and climbing challenges aimed at older children, on cushionfall surfacing under a shade sail. The park is a well-regarded green oasis in the CBD, suited to a picnic plus play stop rather than a destination playground; access is via steps from Bank or Dent Streets, or the nearby Laurie Hall carpark.

Within close proximity to the city centre is this beautiful park. The gardens are well managed and colorful, tables for picnics and shade from well established trees. Definitely somewhere worth going for a quiet work day lunchbreak or to kōrero with a friend etc.

Amazing colours of the season. Good flowers plantation we saw in February 2022.
