Town Basin Playground sits on Whangārei’s waterfront beside Claphams Clock Museum, the centrepiece of the Whangārei District Council Town Basin Park linked into the Huarahi o te Whai Hatea Loop Walkway. The time-and-tide-themed play space packs in an hourglass-shaped climbing net tower, a two-storey slide tower, in-ground trampolines, a climbing circuit, the Titan Xtreme Hoop Course, combo swings and musical play (bongos, talking tubes), all on softfall surfacing illustrated with the maramataka. Shade sails, picnic seating, accessible toilets and mobility-friendly parking sit alongside.

Kid and I absolutely loved this Playground and frankly it was amazing. All different sorts of things tomplay on for different aged and a decent amount of seats and shade. I'd encourage coming super earlyz we were there between 8-11am and it was still quite full. There are little trampolines which are such a cute addition. Our kids played here longer than any other playground we have ever been to.
