Kuratau Lakeside Playground is the children's play area at Kuratau Reserve on the western shore of Lake Taupō, set near Horomatangi Place in this small lakeside settlement. The playground sits beside one of Lake Taupō's seven designated swim-only bays, where the Kuratau River meets the lake and boats are banned, making it a safe swimming and paddling spot for kids. The wider reserve has a boat ramp, tennis court and seasonal village shop and winery. Best treated as a summer holiday stop rather than a destination playground.
