Te Kapua Park Playground is a Taupo District Council destination playground on Te Rangitautahanga Road north of Turangi town centre, built in partnership with Ngati Turangitukua who own the land. The water-play centrepiece nods to a historical stream that once ran through the site, with interactive water features mimicking the nearby Tongariro Rivers flow, plus climbing frames, swings, and slides for ages up to 12. The play space sits beside the Turangi skate park and picked up the Te Karanga o te Tui Award in 2024 for cultural collaboration and design. A genuine destination playground for Turangi families and travellers.
