Besley Park is a small Acacia Bay recreation reserve in Taupō on Wakeman Road, set across the road from the Acacia Bay Community Hall and tennis courts. The 2016-replaced pirate-themed playground centres on a pirate ship with climbing, slides, a rock climbing wall, a tunnel with a porthole, a steering wheel for role-play and a mix of bucket, regular and preschool swings, all set on sand and surrounded by old trees for shade. The park is set away from the busier central Taupō play spots and suits children aged roughly five to twelve. Best treated as a Taupō-Acacia Bay neighbourhood destination with picnic and tennis combo potential.

Fantastic Pirate Ship themed playground with activities for young and old kids, has a climbing wall as well. Park has nice trees for shade and park benches as well as outdoor gym stations. Great place to take the whole family including the pets

Like the parking ,the view, there is plenty of room for everyone and it does not appear to be used for a dog's lavatory.Unlike Spa Park on the other side of town .
