King Edward Park is a heritage 6ha South Taranaki District Council park in Hāwera, commissioned in 1875 and opened in 1902 to commemorate the coronation of King Edward VII. The Peter-Pan-themed playground was built by the local Lions Club with a wooden pirate ship, a tree fort, modern toddler equipment, 'insect' play sculptures, a rainbow bridge and a water wheel for hot days. The wider park has formal Edwardian gardens, two intersecting avenues, statues and sculptures, picnic tables, an electric BBQ, an aviary and wheelchair-accessible paths.
