William Nelson Park is a destination central-city reserve on Saint Aubyn Street in Hastings, opened in 2013 and winner of a shared 2014 NZ Recreation Association Outstanding Project award. Alongside a children's playground with swings and a slide is a major skate plaza with rails, ledges, banks and transitions for skateboarders, BMX riders and inline skaters of all levels, plus a kiosk that lends out skateboards, scooters and helmets and is staffed daily until 9pm.

Tidy skatepark, with drinking water and public toilets. Some good banks, gaps and other fun features but hard to get speed.
