Thomsons Bush is a kahikatea–matai native swamp-forest reserve in Prestonville, Invercargill, threaded by 3.5km of all-ages walking trails connecting Queens Drive, Preston Street, Waihopai Walkway and Gimblett Street. A small playground near the carpark offers tyre swings, a seesaw and a climb/slide/hang play module beside picnic tables and toilets. Native fantails and bellbirds are common; dogs must stay on a lead.

What a beautiful walking trail! We let my daughter lead and choose which path to take, so we spen quite a bit of time in there. The play area is also wonderful. The toilet could be better!
