Tauranga and Wharepai Domains form a 9.88-hectare Tauranga City Council sports complex on Cameron Road, established in the 1870s and central Tauranga's premier sports precinct. The northern Tauranga Domain holds an international-standard athletics track, the Tauranga Sports Rugby Club and rugby/cricket fields; the southern Wharepai Domain hosts the Tauranga Lawn Tennis Club, the Tauranga Bowling and Croquet Clubs and general-recreation events. A small children's playground sits among the sports fields, alongside parking and public toilets.
