Tanera Park is a Wellington City Council Town Belt reserve near the top of Brooklyn Hill, accessed off Ohiro Road and via steps from Epuni Street (across the road from Brooklyn Park). The grounds host a sports field for soccer and cricket with changing rooms, an off-leash dog area, the Mokai Kainga Trust-managed Tanera Community Gardens (set aside by Council in 1991), and a small neighbourhood playground beside the lawn. The reserve sits on Wellingtons City to Sea walkway and is reachable on the number 7 bus from town. A community sports and gardens park rather than a destination playground.
