Aro Park is a Wellington City Council community park on Aro Street in Aro Valley, formed in 1983 on the former Matauranga School and earlier St Mary of the Angels school site after residents pushed back on plans for development. The park sits beside the Aro Valley Community Centre and includes a childrens playground, open sports lawn, basketball court, and picnic spots, hosting the annual Aro Valley Fair and Arolympics events. A community-anchored inner-city park rather than a destination playground.
