Tāhunanui Beach Playground sits directly behind one of NZ's finest golden-sand beaches and is one of the country's premier inclusive playgrounds. The play space features a multi-level play fortress with slides and climbing nets, the Rocktopus climber, a spacenet, a giant basket swing, grouped pre-schooler swings, a wheelchair-accessible carousel, a dedicated wheelchair swing, a flying fox, a seesaw, a train and sensory/musical panels. This is a very popular spot when the weather is good. On one side you have a long sandy beach and on the other you have a succession of play areas for kids; from the big slide to trampolining, a water park and go karts. There is also a cafe/diner for exhausted parents and plenty of green spaces including tennis courts nearby. It gets very busy at times but access is facilitated by an adequate car park and the local taxis are usually around.

Great place for family, great views Plenty of free parking. Numerous public toilets which is a nice change for a park …
