Summerhill Reserve is a 5.8 acre Palmerston North City Council nature reserve on Summerhill Drive in Fitzherbert, about 1km from Massey University's Manawatū campus. The reserve is dominated by native bush walking trails that connect into the wider Palmerston North walkway network rather than structured play equipment. Best treated as a bush-walk stop combined with a visit to one of the nearby playgrounds like Atawhai Park or Springdale Park.

Great local walk around our home at Summerset on Summerhill Retirement Village suitable for seniors but use a walking pole as there are steep steps at both the Hilltop Tavern entrance and Ruapehu Road exit. For Seniors allow 45 to 60 minutes. Dog friendly but ensure you carry a poop bag and dispose in the council bin by the Tavern

A good easy walk, children friendly but not for Pram as the path has a lot of stones and some stairs ! Very pretty forest next to the path
