Poutoa Reserve is a Palmerston North City Council nature reserve on Summerhill Drive in Fitzherbert, co-managed by Council and Rangitane reflecting its status as a historically significant pa site. The Poutoa Walkway winds through native bush with steep sections and connects out to the Titoki Walkway via the Green Corridors network, with dogs allowed and plenty of open space. A bush-walking and cultural reserve rather than a manufactured playground.
