St Clair Playground sits on the Esplanade overlooking St Clair Beach in Dunedin, set right next to the strip of beachfront cafes, restaurants and the St Clair Hot Salt Water Pool. The play area pairs slides, swings, climbing equipment, ropes and a sandpit with the surf-and-promenade backdrop, making it an easy combine-the-beach-with-the-playground stop. A second playground plus a mini-golf course sits along John Wilson Ocean Drive at the other end of the beach. Best for families wanting to mix sand, a swim and a coffee stop in one visit.
