Bathgate Park on Helena Street in South Dunedin is a Dunedin City Council sports park hosting rugby, t-ball and softball alongside a recently upgraded inclusive playground. The play space includes a fort with slide, ladder, net and log climber, log scramble and stepping logs, talking tubes, a wheelchair-accessible carousel, mouse wheel, musical play, three swings for different ages and a half-basketball court with adjustable net, all on continuous soft rubber matting. Fencing along Hillside Road, accessible toilets, picnic tables and off-street parking sit alongside.

I used to love this place as a kid, it is good for rugby or sporting activities. Even to let the family dog(s) get out for a bit of a run. There are toilets, by the Southern Rugby club rooms. Only downer is, having people drink down there sometimes, during the week.

Grass cut, playground tidy, didn't see any graffiti or rubbish. Did see people with little to no re call on their dogs which is a worry so close to a playground though.
