Marlow Park, locally known as the 'Dinosaur Park', is an iconic stand-alone playground in St Clair, Dunedin, built in the early 1970s by the Dunedin South Rotary Club. Its concrete-and-fibreglass dinosaur sculptures (a stegosaurus slide, diplodocus swings, serpent climbing frames and a concrete whale) have been beloved by generations of Dunedin children. Alongside the dinosaur play structures the playground includes a mini road layout for cycling/scooter road safety practice, adjustable basketball hoops, climbing equipment, picnic tables, toilets, drinking fountains and parking. The site is scheduled for a major Dunedin City Council destination-playground redevelopment from 2025 that will retain and refurbish the dinosaur slide and concrete whale.

Spacious park and playground. Perfect for little ones to have a run around and playing at the many choices for playground installations. If they brought their bike or scooter, there's a nearby track.

I visited this park for the first time since moving cities when I was a toddler and it's just as good as I remember. I remember coming here with my dad on special occasions when we drove out towards the coast. This park has a special place in my heart if I'm honest. Located right next to the beach, it's an awesome spot to come with the whole family on a day out. It's a perfect playground for kids to play and use their imagination, with the iconic dinosaur slide as well as the pretend road setup for biking around on. Overall, an amazing playground!
