Rose Gardens Whakatane is the Whakatane District Council heritage rose garden park on the former Eivers Beach site between McGarvey Road and McAlister Street, on the town side of the Whakatane River stopbank. The formal entrance opens onto rose gardens, scented garden, bulbs, shrubs, and a small Japanese garden gifted in 2003 by sister city Kamagaya. A small designated childrens play area, an outdoor amphitheatre, picnic spots, public toilets, and an easy link onto the river walking path round it out. Hosts the Whakatane parkrun on Saturdays. A relaxed gardens-with-play stop rather than a destination playground.

Beautiful spot for a picnic with our family, and our dogs came too. Well looked after grounds.
