The council has thoughtfully kept houses back on the other side of the road, allowing for this riverside space. I visited soon after Cyclone Gabrielle hit, so there were various broken trees. They'll be cleared away soon. This is a lovely little oasis - not that the beautiful town of Cambridge needs one! It could do with a good walking path along its length. This park is a Rotary Project.

The reserve combines the playground and Cambridge skate park near the Dominion Avenue entrance with picnic areas, the Settlers Track bushwalk running under the High Level Bridge, and a boat ramp near the Karapiro Stream junction. Public toilets and parking are at the Dominion Avenue entry. Best treated as a destination Cambridge family stop combining play, picnic and a riverside walk.
