Queen Elizabeth Park is Greater Wellington Regional Council's 650-hectare coastal park stretching between Paekakariki and Raumati South. Alongside dunes, beach access, wetlands and walking, cycling and horse-riding tracks, the park is home to a family playground with swings, slides and climbing equipment for toddlers through older kids, plus a sandpit. The park is also unique for the Wellington Tramway Museum, which runs heritage trams along a 2km track from the visitor centre to the beach, with toilets, picnic areas, BBQ spots, car parks and a campground throughout.

Great park, good facilities and toilets. Nice tram running from the entrance of the park to the other side near the beach part with views of Kapiti Island, operating from 11am till 4pm. Bikes and dog friendly, very spacious with different pathways at the centre to Paraparaumu (North) or Paekakariki (South). Plenty of parking around, taseal paths throughout.
