Nixon Park is an Auckland Council park in Kingsland on Central Road, sitting just over the bank from Eden Park stadium. The playground features two wooden play towers (one with a covered slide, one with a long open slide running down the bank), climbing ropes, climbing frames and a basketball hoop, plus a junior area with play tower (ladder, climbing wall, slide), a spinning wheel and a five-swing set including an accessible basket swing. Adjacent are a basketball half-court, volleyball court, a skate park for 6 to 13 year olds, public toilets, parking and a path network through established trees.

Nixon Park is a large park having great facilities e.g. flood lights etc. for Rugby and other games. The access is via Central Road and Bond Street on the other end. We parked on Central Road while visiting this park. There is a kids skate park along with a full sized basket ball court. There is a small kids playground installed on site too. This makes the area equally popular with families. We visited it on a weekend and the day was bright and sunny. Kids had a great time in the playground and spent a lot of time having fun there. Athol Morris walkway goes through this park. Overall highly recommended.

What a lovely morning! 🌞 I absolutely adore wisteria. Every time I drive on SH16/North Western motorway …
