Basque Park is a north-facing Eden Terrace neighbourhood reserve tucked between Symonds Street, Newton Road, New North Road and the North Western Motorway, originally built in the 1930s as a Depression-era children’s playground. Today the grassy bowl features three stone circles (one with a water feature), young palms and pōhutukawa, picnic seating and a playground used by inner-city families. The park hosts the annual Basque Park Summer Series of community events and cultural performances.

Nice inner city park this.Space to walk the dog, fly a drone, get fit. Has Aucklands answer to Stonehenge, well kinda.Nice plantings, surrounded by attractive apartments, and more historic villas. There is some seating, and a water drinking fountain. The ground can be quite boggy though.

It's a nice patch in the city, small but just right for a small event or a quick walk/run. Good for a picnic and accesible to other points of the city like K'road or Ponsonby.
