Kensington Park is Whangārei District Council's major Kensington Sports Complex near Western Hills Drive in central Whangārei. The playground combines swings, a double slide, climbing frames and fine-motor games for a wide age range, set alongside the sports fields for soccer, rugby and netball plus a skate park. Public toilets, picnic tables and benches make it a comfortable family stop, though the playground sits next to a busy road with only small barriers so close supervision is needed. Dogs are not permitted on the sports park. Best treated as a multi-purpose Whangārei family stop combining play with a sideline visit.

Just great we are able to use the swings slides etc with our son Jack he's 2yrs 4mths old and asks every day about the parks, stay safe mask up & happy days 😀😊 …

Excellent playground, all the things that kids love and also near to netball courts, batting cage and field. New toilets nearby as well
