The Junior Bike Track on Napier’s Marine Parade is a fenced miniature road circuit run by Napier City Council, with working traffic lights, a roundabout, pedestrian crossings and give way signs for children to practise road safety on bikes and scooters. A smaller matted area inside caters to under-threes, and shaded seating, toilets and parking sit alongside the adjacent May & Peter Harris playground. The seafront location places it right on the promenade with coffee carts and ice cream nearby.

Really underrated part of the waterfront, the bike track is awesome for young kids on scooters or bikes, it’s all fenced off so it’s nice and safe. Picnic tables in the shade for the adults to sit. There is also a padded area that is fenced off that children can learn to use balance bikes in. Lots of off street parking (2hr max) Highly recommended
Lots of fun for little kids learning to ride. Good to get them to play attention to road markings (and traffic lights). Can get a bit intimidating for the young kids when there are more confident riders speeding around, but there's also a fenced off area for under 3s to play in, which has soft matting.
