Clive Square is Napier’s central heritage public garden at the end of Emerson Street in Napier South, inaugurated in 1854 as an English village-green-style civic park. The Napier City Council reserve features a large central band rotunda, the Centennial Carillon (chimes every half hour from 11:30am–2pm), an ornate 1904 Edwardian fountain in memory of W R Blythe, and a lily-topped pond housing the city’s goldfish. Rare and unusual plantings include Prickly Cycads, Moreton Bay Fig, Petticoat Palms and Bottle Palms; toilets are on site.

Beautiful spot with bench seats and a beautiful water fountain. A cafe is next door with a bathroom and great coffee. A tourist place is on the other side. Useful restful spot.
