Gleeson Park is a Napier City Council reserve on Faraday Street on Hospital Hill (Mataruahou), with the playground rebuilt and opened in April 2024 on the site of a former quarry. The play space combines a carousel, a wheelchair-friendly trampoline, a seesaw, a rope climb and a wheelchair-accessible perimeter path, with mirrored surfaces nodding to the Māori name Mataruahou referring to the mirrored reflections in pools along the old island's tracks. Best treated as a destination Napier Hill family stop with strong accessibility credentials.

Can't wait till they finish the retaining wall and start the new playground for summer.
