The Jim Barker Memorial Playground on Huiputea Drive in Ōtorohanga is a kiwiana-themed destination play space funded by the Barker family in memory of Jim Barker, founder of Otorohanga Transport and Strait Shipping. Bespoke play elements include a truck and a ferry, alongside a flying fox, water play, stepping logs and log scrambles, a Buzzy Bee, rugby goalposts and a timber boardwalk weaving through wetland plantings.
