Edwards Pit Park is a Palmerston North City Council nature reserve on Featherston Street in Roslyn, restored from an early 1900s brick-making quarry (Robert Price Edwards 1900, Hoffman Kiln 1904) and a long-time dumping ground. From 1999 the Pit Park People group worked with PNCC to plant native trees, restore waterways, and lay over 2km of walking paths through the wetlands. Native birds and frogs are common, with picnic areas and links into Skoglund Park for a longer outing. A nature-led restoration park and walking stop rather than a manufactured playground.

The Pit is a large park with a field and a wetland path area. Its stairs, hills and winding gravel paths make it excellent for runs or dog walks. While it's still unfinished and could be maintained better, it's gradually improving. The car park is also never open but you can use the skogland park one.

A stroll here in the evening is pleasant. Bushland paths offer a chance to relax. The sunset is a must-see before ending your evening stroll. There are times when we forget to see the beauty around us. In this busy, tensed and blind world, it is hard to see the hidden treasures within nature. There are a variety of plants here and tiny birds that are welcoming you with smiles. Respect and acceptance of nature should become our virtues. Let nature help us become better humans.
