It’s a Really nice park to have hidden in middle of Newtown for the kids to have fun time playing. The flying fox is cool. They have a BBQ area as well, but no public toilets are here. You also might struggle with finding a parking here.

Carrara Park is a small neighbourhood reserve on Regent Street in Newtown, Wellington, with a play area that was refurbished by Wellington City Council during the 2020 lockdown after damage from a Norfolk pine's roots. The playground has a flying fox, standard, bucket and accessible swings, slides, climbing structures and a toddler playhouse, plus picnic seating, BBQs and a community garden.

I take my 4 year old son here when we pick up his cousin. Has a little littles playground in the corner of one of the 2 entries into the play area. The big kids area and 2 bbq picnic areas opposite the park area. You also have a self contained vege/fruit garden that seems to be well looked after. Not a bad set up, green grass area that can be used to play footy, rugby or whatever really. Depending when the council mowers mow them lawns. Did I mention a cool flying fox too 😊 My son and his older cousin, helping him get a feel of it. Downside is no public toliets unless u live close ur algoods otherwise, public toliets is next to Newtown library or Mc Ds.
