Rotorua War Memorial Park is Rotorua's WWII memorial park on the southern edge of Lake Rotorua, opened on ANZAC Day 1958 with memorial gates at the entrance to War Memorial Drive. The park's lakefront edge is now home to the Rotorua Lakefront Playground (rebuilt in December 2021 as part of the $40m Lakefront redevelopment), which features dual flying foxes, a rope course with slide, nest swing, pendulum swing, net see-saw, basketball half-court and smooth bike/scooter loops, all free to use. A toilet block opened next to the playground in early 2022, with food vendors and native-plant landscaping along the lakefront.
