Turnbull Thomson Park is an Invercargill City Council heritage reserve on Islington Street in Georgetown, around 70% of which was gifted to the city in 1933 by the daughters of John Turnbull Thomson, the first Surveyor General of NZ. The site combines well-maintained rugby, soccer and hockey fields (including an astro turf) with multiple play areas featuring inclusive swings, a fitness cube, a monorail and standard equipment, plus picnic seating, mature trees and a designated off-lead dog exercise area; a relaxed local sports-and-play hub.

A great spot for a casual walk arond the bushland area with views of the Waihopai river that meanders through parts of the park. Picnic here when weather permits this activity. Good family gathering area if you wanted to organised a large family gathering.
