Te Mete Park is a 5.2 acre New Plymouth District Council sports ground on Mangorei Road in Merrilands, gifted to the city as a sports ground in the late 1920s by Stanley John Smith and still used for football and cricket today. The reserve combines lush green lawns and scenic walking trails with the playground tucked alongside the sports fields. Best treated as a sports park with a playground attached rather than a destination play space.
