Tamahere Reserve sits on Tamahere Drive in Windy Ridge / Glenfield on Auckland's North Shore. The Kaipatiki Local Board opened a new playground here in March 2019 at the northern end of the reserve, replacing an older play space at the Redfern Lane end. The play area has a basket swing, mound with double slide, climbing module, balance beams, stilts and stepping squares, boulders and a seesaw, with new plantings, seating, shade sails and a connecting path to the rest of the reserve.

More and more I get jealous that I never had playground this nice right outside my home when I was growing up! This is either fairly brand new or expertly maintained as it's so clean and put together. Now, I can say that after bringing a 2 yr old here, that age is kind of limited just to the slide where as most everything else fits more for probably 5-10 yrs old. There's plenty of seating for all ages and grass as well if you're fancying a picnic.

It's a nice playground but there is no public toilet or drinking fountain....so it's definitely build with only local kids in mind(
