Inwards Reserve is an Auckland Council Kaipatiki neighbourhood reserve on Salisbury Road in Birkdale, named after the Inwards family who started the Birkenhead Bus Transport company. The recent playground refresh added swings, a spinner, climber, a red bus play piece (a nod to the family heritage), and lollipop poles, with shade sails over the equipment, picnic tables, parking, and toilets on site. Birkdale Primary School and Vandeleur Reserve sit close by for combining stops. A handy local stop with a homely sun-safe setup rather than a destination playground.

Have lived here for three years and never noticed this great little park and reserve tucked away. The park has the typical swing setup and a few additional climbing obstacles for kids. There's of course also the inwards reserve school bus and slide to round it out. All covered from the sun with the help of many large shade sails. Ample parking too.

Good little park, my kids love it.. especially the bus playground. Quiet & lots of shade. Good parking close to playground. Only downside is no toilet, be good if they had one.
